A INTERPOL E SUA FORMAÇÃO E ATUAÇÃO JUNTO AO BRASIL: ESTUDO DE UMA ORGANIZAÇÃO INTERNACIONAL DE SEGURANÇA POLICIAL

Resumo

Resumo: O artigo analisa a organização internacional INTERPOL, abordando sua história, estrutura, funcionamento e colaboração com o Brasil, à luz das teorias de relações transgovernamentais e transnacionais, conforme Robert Keohane e Joseph Nye Jr. A pesquisa adota uma abordagem qualitativa e analítico-interpretativa, utilizando-se da Análise de Conteúdo (AC) de fontes primárias e, apresentando um caráter descritivo. Conclui-se que a INTERPOL desempenha um papel crucial para a Polícia Federal, especialmente na prevenção e repressão ao crime transnacional, evidenciado por operações conjuntas em 2019 e 2020. A INTERPOL também é o elo de conexão entre as polícias federais ao redor do mundo. Entretanto, progressos são necessários, a fim de se conseguir mais autonomia em suas operações.

Abstract: This article analyzes the international organization INTERPOL, addressing its history, structure, functioning, and collaboration with Brazil, in light of theories of transgovernmental and transnational relations, according to Robert Keohane and Joseph Nye Jr. The research adopts a qualitative and analytical-interpretative approach, using Content Analysis (CA) of primary sources and presenting a descriptive character. It is concluded that INTERPOL plays a crucial role for the Federal Police, especially in the prevention and repression of transnational crime, evidenced by joint operations in 2019 and 2020. INTERPOL is also the link between federal police forces around the world. However, progress is needed in order to achieve greater autonomy in its operations.
